Recently, I closed the first chapter of my career in digital media when I moved out to Colorado seeking community and independence. Previously, I worked as a digital media specialist for the 4-H Extension Office at North Carolina State University where I gained invaluable experience in project management, content generation, accessibility, and more. Since my relocation, I have been eager to begin taking the next step deeper into my professional life utilizing the skills I acquired with 4-H and learning more to leave a positive impact wherever I go.

Creativity in professionalism has been a deep-seated passion of mine since grade school, but as I’ve gained experience in the field, I’ve learned that I have a keen interest in accessibility and equity. I like for my works to be accessible and easily understood by audiences from a wide range of backgrounds. The more people reached, the greater the impact. When faced with an increasing range of challenges in our modern world, I strive to stay on top of new changes so that I may better solve them through continuous learning.

No project from my professional life best represents this than the animation project I worked on for the NC 4-H office. While animation isn’t yet a singular focus in my career, it was a challenge I met with full determination to succeed. Not only did I gain experience in putting a visual story together, but I also got to learn more about the decision-making process from a director’s perspective - seeing the story as a whole rather than focusing on the small parts within.

I am currently pursuing freelance and permanent professional work in Colorado within the Denver and Colorado Springs area. Please feel free to reach out to nick@nhynesdesign.com to connect!
